Description

The old medieval town, among the largest archaeological sites inside the walls in the world, is located on a huge rock massif, inaccessible from the east and south, while slightly going down towards west and northwest. It is situated in the south-eastern part of the coast, 4 km from the sea. It stands out for its unique position and rich monumentā€™s treasure. Old Bar amazes every visitor with the beauty of its natural environment and witnesses of its centuries-long existence.

It is known for its long and turbulent history, as well as a large number of olive trees, which are considered to be its symbol. There used to be up to 100,000 olive trees in Old Bar, which were hundreds of years old.

Entrance to the Old Town of Bar is charged EUR 3 for adults and EUR 1 for children up to 12 years.

The working hours of the Old Town of Bar are from 8 am to 9 pm during the season, and from 8 am to 5 pm out of season.
